BUYING - SPENDING - PAYING OFF

Buying, spending, paying off - over and over again! Read about my family's journey to a debt free life. What we do and how we do it.

Why is our live on budget "the Russian way"? - simply because I am Russian and I wanted to point it out to justify possible grammatical and spelling mistakes! I am doing my best but I know I am far away from sounding as a native English speaker

I am publishing tips and tricks that me and my family discover as we go along the difficult road of budgeting, debt management and financial planning. We are not qualified financial advisors but just a young family who desperately wants to get out of debt in the most enjoyable way

This is also a tool for me to stay on track on my personal quest to change my shopping habits that are way out of control.
  • I write about my experience, feelings and what I do about it.
  • I search, test and report about tools, theories and tips on budgeting and financial management, on dealing with debt and on psychological tricks that retail uses to lure us into more and more spending.
May be this can help you too.

  • This blog is for you, who recognised that your personal finances need attention.
  • It's for you if you want to do something about your debt, or just to become more in control of your spending.
  • It is for you if you don't want to be tricked into buying things you actually don't need!
I am a 36-year old Russian and live in London together with my adorable Kiwi husband and a one-year old son. I work in a very large company and I actually really like my job. I have graduated from three universities (in Russia, Germany and recently in UK), I have studied sociology and human resource management. As the result of my academic research I recently have published a book about manipulation of results in market research and an article about layoff survivor's syndrome.

One of my biggest hobbies is studying and learning so over the last three years I have become
  • a registered MBTI practitioner,
  • executive coach specialising in organisational change and
  • an action learning facilitator.
Being in danger of becoming a real nerd I also have taken out less academic hobbies and suddenly discovered that I love digital photography and blogging!
